Parvati Arga was declared a bird sanctuary 23 May 1990.

Area: 1,084 hectare

Location: Gonda district, Uttar Pradesh.

The Bird Sanctuary comprises two lakes are two connected water bodies.

The lake is naturally able to sustain resident birds throughout the year and migratory birds during the winter season.

Recently Parvati Arga has been designated as a Ramsar site.

45 km from Gonda city and 22 km from Ajodhya of District Faizabad.

Total 153 species of birds from 33 different families have been identified by the authorities in the Parwati Arga wetland.
